The Disney Parks News to Care About This Week (10/24) š«š¬š
Hereās the Disney parks news worth caring about.
Itās one of those weeks when the parks lean into big changes ā from patriotic flyāsims to 2D revolutions and villainous rumors. Buckle up, folks.
āļø Soarinā Across America announced for SummerāÆ2026
Yes, one of the fanāfavorites at both Disneyland and Disneyland East is getting its next major revamp. The classic Soarinā Around the World (at both EPCOT and Disney California Adventure) will transform into āSoarinā Across America,ā debuting summer 2026. The new simulation will showcase iconic U.S. landscapes and cityscapes from coast to coast, aligning with the U.S.āsāÆ250th anniversary celebration.
And yes, of course Patrick announced it:
Side note: In Japan, itās called Soaring, with the G included. Wild.
š§ Remyās Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT to switch from 3D to 2D
In lessācheesy but still significant news: everyoneās favorite rat-themed Disney attraction that also regularly featured the worst wait times in the world will be converted from 3D to 2D imagery in a planned refurbishment (scheduled for NovāÆ10ā13, 2025) with new props and lighting enhancements.
Personally, I dug the 3D ā especially the floating head of Chef Gusteau. But I guess I can give the new version a try since Iāll be grabbing some ice-cream filled buns nearby anyway.
š Rumor debunked: Evil Queen and other villains are not being phased out yearāround
Itās gone viral: videos of the Evil Queen at Disneyland Park implying she is being āretiredā after Halloween. Disney Parks has formally responded: villains remain part of the parks yearāround, though their appearances may rotate by season.
Take that Dis-twitter! (Is that even how you say it?)
