The Nerdy Disney News You Should Care About This Week (4/4)
A bunch of attraction stuff, Goofy is old as hell, and much more.
We’re not going to give you updates about barriers or some random restaurant updating its bathrooms — this is the news you should care about at the intersection of nerd and Disney.
So much cool stuff coming to the parks
We missed a slew of attraction news in March. Here are a few of the highlights:
A Mando and Grogu mission is coming to Millenium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run
You can see footage of very early testing for Stark Flight Lab at Avengers Campus
A HERBIE animatronic is in the works!
These renderings of the load station for the new Monsters Inc. coaster look… insanely innovative.
Andor Season 2 is almost here
Andor will grace our screens once again starting on April 22. The new season will kick off with the first three episodes available upon release. Disney+ has even more to offer in April, including Doctor Who Season 2 (aka Series 15).
A Goofy Movie is somehow turning 30
Whoever had the idea to take Goofy and put him in a situation where he’s just a typical dad in the ‘90s doesn’t get enough credit or accolades.
But as far as I’m concerned, this is still a new and fresh spin on this classic character. Yet, somehow, this movie turns 30 years old this month. And you can celebrate by attending an anniversary screening at the El Capitan.
You can also find a slew of merch at the parks and online.
Quick Hits
For the first time in forever, both water parks at Disney World will be open at the same time.
Disney closed out their CinemaCon panel with a clip from Avatar: Fire & Ash, after sharing additional footage for The Fantastic Four: First Steps, among other treats.
Park discounts, in this economy?
The live-action remake of Tangled has been paused, and I’m sure you can guess why.
